What responsibilities can new hires expect in a role similar to yours?

As a new hire, the first and most important responsibility is to learn. If you are new to the semiconductor manufacturing industry, you will first need to familiarize yourself with the basics. Being a data scientist or machine learning engineer, you will need a basic understanding of the manufacturing process to be able to understand what the data represents. The next step would be to familiarize yourself with the Micron development environment as well as the different software/programming solutions we use. Usually, this learning happens during On the Job Training (OJT). You might be given a development role in a small project or be attached to a larger team. The learning curve may be quite steep especially if you are new to such roles. However, we have a mentorship program to support the new hires and to ensure that they are smoothly integrated into the team. As you progress in your learning and understanding, you will be slowly tasked with bigger development tasks and assigned to different projects. And soon, it might be your turn to be the mentor instead.
