Hi there, thank you for asking this question.
To me personally, the key to excel is to
1. Understand what your job scope is and what needed from you.
2. Proactively ask your supervisor about your task and what you don't understand.
3. Exploring yourself with the resources you have to enhance your knowledge in any area you need.
4. Make sure to find a perfect balance between work-life and personal-life.
These are some of the way works for me, hopefully it able to helps you.
